Project Description:
Under the framework of the call for proposals ref. no. KAP-RD04a-RD04b-1-24 titled "Complex Development of Processing Plants", HONETT Szerviz Zrt. is implementing a complex technological and energetic upgrade at its ready-meal production facility located at 10–12 Széchenyi utca, Vecsés 2220.
The project aims to increase the company's productivity, technologically expand and modernise its supporting asset base, increase manufacturing capacity, and reduce the carbon footprint of its operations. The development is directly linked to the core activity of HONETT Szerviz Zrt., specifically NACE 1085 'Manufacture of prepared meals and dishes', focusing on the modernisation of airline catering and related food processing workflows.
The investment includes the procurement of a packaging machine and an inkjet printer, refrigeration upgrades, the purchase of an advanced dishwasher and water softening equipment, the installation of a washing chamber and specialised rack trolleys, alongside the deployment of a solar panel system with a nominal capacity of 340 kW. The packaging technology upgrade expands sandwich production capacity and introduces new, eco-friendly packaging materials. The refrigeration modernisation reduces energy consumption, enables remote monitoring and intervention, and guarantees a higher level of food safety and product quality. Aligning with the sustainability expectations of airline partners, the upgraded washing technology supports more efficient cleaning and sanitisation of reusable equipment.
As the energy component of the project, the 340 kW solar PV system serves to partially cover the energy demand of the economic and production processes within the plant. The planned annual electricity generation capacity of the renewable energy system is 508,236 kWh/year. The system is designed with zero grid feed-in, primarily aimed at reducing the facility's own electricity consumption.
The development contributes to strengthening the competitiveness of HONETT Szerviz Zrt., enhancing the efficiency of production processes, adopting modern and sustainable food industry technologies, and increasing the utilization rate of renewable energy sources. As a result of the project, the enterprise will serve its domestic and international partners under more modern, energy-efficient, and sustainable operational conditions.
